Privacy Notice

How AIM Transparency handles personal data: the plugin on your site, this website, and the opt-in AI Transparency Directory. Ten short clauses, in plain English.

01Controllerprivacy@aimtransparency.com

Who we are.

This notice explains how AIM Transparency (“we”, “us”), the WordPress plugin and website operated by an independent developer, handles personal data. You can reach us at privacy@aimtransparency.com; the operator’s full name and postal address are available on request. For EU data-protection purposes we are the data controller for the data described below.

02The plugin

The plugin collects nothing by default.

Installed on your WordPress site, AIM Transparency does not phone home, track visitors, set visitor cookies, or send any data off your site. The image flags and metadata it creates stay on your own server. Data only leaves your site if you explicitly opt in to one of the features below.

03Pro waitlist0 emails stored

Pro waitlist (closed).

Before launch, this site offered an optional “notify me about Pro” email form. Pro is now available, the waitlist is closed, the form no longer exists on the site or in the plugin, and no waitlist emails are stored. The list was empty at launch and has been retired.

04The directory4 fields collected

AI Transparency Directory (opt-in).

What we collect

Only if you tick the consent box and submit your listing in the plugin:

  • AYour site address and site name (intended to be listed publicly).
  • BThe number of images you have labelled as AI, and your plugin and WordPress version.
  • COptionally, a contact email (used only to reach you about your listing; never published).
  • DA record of your consent (version and timestamp).

Why, and our legal basis

To maintain a public directory of sites that disclose AI-generated content, and to keep your listing accurate. Legal basis: your consent. The directory is self-attested: listing is not a certification or endorsement of compliance.

How to withdraw

Use “Remove my listing” in the plugin, which removes your listing and deletes your contact details, or email us. You can withdraw at any time.

05PurchasesDodo Payments

Purchases (when Pro is available).

If you buy a paid version, checkout and billing are handled by our merchant of record, Dodo Payments, which processes your payment and contact details under its own privacy policy. We receive order and license information needed to deliver and support your purchase.

06Sharing2 processors

Who we share data with.

We do not sell your data. We use service providers (processors) only as needed:

  • ADodo Payments: payments and licensing, where applicable.
  • BCloudflare: hosting for the directory service and this website.

Some providers are based outside the EU/EEA; where they are, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy/DPF mechanism).

07Retention

Retention.

Directory entries: until you remove your listing. Purchase records: as required for tax and accounting.

08Your rightsGDPR

Your rights.

Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR), you may request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. To exercise any right, contact privacy@aimtransparency.com.

09Cookies0 visitor cookies

Cookies.

The plugin sets no cookies for your site’s visitors. This marketing website uses only what is strictly necessary to function; if we add analytics later, we will update this notice and seek consent where required.

10ChangesLast updated

Changes.

We may update this notice; we will revise the “last updated” date and, for material changes affecting consented data, seek renewed consent.
