Template — review before publishing. Replace [Company], [address] and [privacy@email] with your real details, and have it reviewed by qualified counsel, especially where it concerns EU personal data.

1. Who we are

This notice explains how [Company] (“we”, “us”), the maker of the AIM Transparency WordPress plugin and this website, handles personal data. You can reach us at [privacy@email], [address]. For EU data-protection purposes we are the data controller for the data described below.

2. The plugin collects nothing by default

Installed on your WordPress site, AIM Transparency does not phone home, track visitors, set visitor cookies, or send any data off your site. The image flags and metadata it creates stay on your own server. Data only leaves your site if you explicitly opt in to one of the features below.

3. Pro waitlist (opt-in)

What we collect

Why, and our legal basis

To email you once when the Pro version launches, and occasional related updates. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).

How to withdraw

Every email has an unsubscribe link, or email us. Unsubscribing removes you from the list.

4. AI Transparency Directory (opt-in)

What we collect

Only if you tick the consent box and submit your listing in the plugin:

Why, and our legal basis

To maintain a public directory of sites that disclose AI-generated content, and to keep your listing accurate. Legal basis: your consent. The directory is self-attested — listing is not a certification or endorsement of compliance.

How to withdraw

Use “Remove my listing” in the plugin, which deletes your entry, or email us. You can withdraw at any time.

5. Purchases (when Pro is available)

If you buy a paid version, checkout and billing are handled by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, which processes your payment and contact details under its own privacy policy. We receive order and license information needed to deliver and support your purchase.

6. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We use service providers (processors) only as needed:

Some providers are based outside the EU/EEA; where they are, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy/DPF mechanism).

7. Retention

Waitlist emails: until you unsubscribe or we close the list. Directory entries: until you remove your listing. Purchase records: as required for tax and accounting.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR), you may request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. To exercise any right, contact [privacy@email].

9. Cookies

The plugin sets no cookies for your site’s visitors. This marketing website uses only what is strictly necessary to function; if we add analytics later, we will update this notice and seek consent where required.

10. Changes

We may update this notice; we will revise the “last updated” date and, for material changes affecting consented data, seek renewed consent.
